About Elena

My Coaching Story

During my 30-plus years as a communications professional, I’ve been a freelance writer, copy editor and managing editor. Asking questions has been a consistent thread throughout my career, so becoming a life coach feels like a natural transition for me.

A significant life event served as the catalyst for pursuing life coach training. My sister Teresa passed away in March 2022 at age 56, following a long battle with a rare form of ovarian cancer. Losing my sister made me realize how important it is to focus on achieving my goals and living life in a purpose-filled way. Being a life coach gives me the opportunity to help others live more meaningful lives.

A few months after Teresa died, I began working with my career coach to discern where I would do my coach training. As a lifelong Catholic, it was important that I incorporate my faith into my coaching journey. After doing some research, I discovered the Professional Christian Coaching Institute and learned they offered a Catholic Life Coaching Essentials Course taught by two certified Catholic life coaches. Did I think it was a coincidence that the course started on the one-year anniversary of Teresa’s passing? Absolutely not.

I have worked for many faith-based organizations throughout my communications career. I also served as a photojournalist in the Army Reserve for 12 years. I recently helped facilitate a Walking with Purpose Bible Study program for women in my parish. In addition, I have enjoyed proclaiming God’s Word as a lector for many years.

I look forward to accompanying you on your journey to a more meaningful and purpose-filled life.
